Homemade Bud Vase
ages 3-6
Supplies
Glass bottle, masking tape, paint
Activity Detail
This is a fun activity for springtime, when the flowers are beginning to bloom. Take a glass bottle, such as a salad dressing bottle or a taco sauce bottle, and remove the label. Then, let your child apply small pieces of masking tape all over the bottle until the entire bottle, except the opening, is covered. Last, help your child to gently brush paint over the tape. Add a couple of flowers from the garden and your child has made a vase!
Comments
You can also change this activity around a little by applying the shoe polish all over the bottle and then removing the pieces of tape!

My kids loved this activity, but instead of shoe polish, we used some of our poster paints. My kids loved the multi-colored vase that they created. It now sits in my kitchen window sill.
