Ribbon Photo Albums
ages 3-6
Supplies
Small photo album, self-adhesive ribbon, self-adhesive vellum (transparent paper) quotes, scrapbooking pens and pictures
Activity Detail
Would you like a less frustrating or time consuming option to scrapbooking with all those stickers and special paper? I did, so I decided to simplify the memory capturing process by making my photo albums more about the subject than the display. I bought a photo album, 8x8 or 4x8, and some self-adhesive ribbon and vellum quotes about children. With your child's help, you can border the top, bottom and/or sides with the ribbon, sprinkle in some cute quotes and still have room for a 4x6 picture and space to journal something short and sweet. Your child may be able to dictate what they want you to write about that snapshot in time! Sepia-toned or black and white pictures are especially striking in these simple albums.

This is an idea I will definitely try! I simply don't have the time to create the more detailed scrapbooks.

Cute to record what your child says.

This activity is original enough, but I think it probably holds limited appeal to most kids, though of course some would enjoy it. It's certainly worth trying, though it may wind up being something you take on, with limited participation from your child.
