Handprint Art
ages 1-6
Supplies
Fabric paint, t-shirt or apron, willing child
Activity Detail
Here's a great idea for the next time you're looking for a creative gift. Paint your child's hand with fabric paint and apply to a clean t-shirt or apron. Write your child's name and the year in paint or permanent marker underneath the hand print. You can also create a shirt or apron with hands from more than one child -- siblings, cousins, or classmates.

This is a great opportunity to capture a moment in your growing child's life by framing his/her handprint. Alternatively, footprints can be captured, too.

This is a nice idea for getting kids excited about personalizing special occasion gifts that they made themselves and giving them to the people they care about. Grandparents especially would probably love receiving this. It is similar to putting tiny handprints with paint on pottery (i.e. a mug or a planter,) or even tinier baby footprints (on pottery) which also makes a great Mother's or Father's Day gift.
