3 opaque cups, small toy or other small item you have handy (sugar packet, key, etc)

Activity Detail

This simple game for toddlers and preschoolers is based on the same principle as peek-a-boo, the favorite game of many infants. To start the game, hide a small toy under one of three cups while your child is watching. Then move the cups around and ask him to guess which one the toy is hidden under. Hint: for young children, move the cups slowly at first so they can keep track of the toy. Be sure to celebrate when she guesses the right cup!
