History of the Holiday

ages 3-6

Supplies

Computer

Activity Detail

As the holidays roll around, be sure to talk to your kids about each one. They all have a historical importance and fun facts to learn. Make it more than just a day they have off school or a reason to send a card. Most kids can't tell you the meaning of Valentine's Day or St. Patrick's day. What about Cinco De Mayo and Flag Day? Research the day online, and you'll find lots of history and fun activities to help them remember why you are celebrating.

Don't forget the library! Make holidays come alive and research that history in real books. Check out a few holiday theme books to reniforce and enhance your fact-finding mission.
