Homemade Valentine's Cards
ages 3-6
Supplies
Red construction paper, scissors, crayons/markers
Activity Detail
Get an early start on making cards for Valentine's Day. Use red construction paper and show your preschooler how to make a heart by folding the paper in half and cutting a "half-heart," then unfolding and decorating the card. Grandparents will adore it!
Comments
Add a few other colors and some glitter glue, and your kids will be busy for a while! Older kids love to learn to make and "open heart" by cutting 1/2 inch inside the first heart. They can keep cutting until they have a series of different-sized "open hearts" to decorate a more traditional square or rectangular card. Great cutting practice!!
