Valentine Treat Bags

ages 2-6

Small white paper bags, hole-punch, glue, scissors, colored construction paper, markers, ribbon and/or pipe cleaners, buttons, sequins

Activity Detail

Whether it is for preschool parties, a visit to grandma, or gifts for the neighbors, Valentine's Day always brings a need for sweet treats! Enlist the help of your preschooler to make these easy and fun treat bags to hold your goodies. At a party supply store, buy small, white paper bags. While you cut hearts out of construction paper, have your child color the bags and then glue hearts, buttons, sequins, etc. to the bags. When the bags are decorated, fill, and then fold the top down and use a hole-punch to punch 2 holes about 1 inch apart across the top of the bag. Use a red pipe cleaner or piece of ribbon to thread through the holds to keep the bag closed.

It it so much more meaningful to customize bags for treats and gifts. We do this for birthdays, too.
