Firework Headbands

ages 2-6

12x18 construction paper, multiple colors; scissors, glue, tape; patriotic music optional!

Activity Detail

This is such a simple concept, but kids really get a kick out of making their own fireworks with this simple craft activity. Cut multiple colors construction paper into strips. The larger 12x18 paper works best. Cut in 1" strips on the long side. Place one strip horizontally (this will make the headband) and glue strips vertically along the length of the headband. Kids can use all one color, multiple colors or make a pattern if they'd like. Once the glue is dry, wrap the headband around your little one's head and secure with Scotch tape. The strips will bend over and drape down around her head like a firework. Turn on some patriotic music and have a parade!!
