Holiday Placemats

ages 2-6

Poster board or construction paper, crayons, contact paper

Activity Detail

Give your holiday table a personalized touch! Have your child create placemats for the family. Get some poster board or construction paper & cut it into squares or a specific holiday shape such as ghosts for Halloween, pumpkins for Thanksgiving, or Christmas trees for Christmas. Your children can then color the placemats. In order to keep them looking good, you can buy clear contact paper to laminate.

Don't forget the tried-and-true footprint ghosts or turkey handprints that are precious to look at year after year!

My daughter just did this for Thanksgiving and we're always going to treasure it! Fabulous idea that you can use year after year.

This activity is entertaining enough, but it is not particularly original or unique. It's worth doing though, especially on one of those rainy afternoons when you're desperate for something to engage the kids. It does not necessarily have to focus on a holiday theme and could be adapted for pretty much anything like the seasons, favorite foods, etc.
