Thanksgiving Family Tree

ages 3-6

Paper and family pictures

Activity Detail

Draw a large tree with the branches that represent your family. Let your children go through your pictures and pick out a picture for each family member on the tree. Hang the tree in your dining room so that you can talk about all of the people you love on Thanksgiving.

It's hard to imagine this looking good at the end.

A great idea for helping kids understand the meaning of Thanksgiving, and be able to talk about things (people) they are thankful for.

You could make this a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table by finding a sturdy tree branch and "planting" it in Plaster of Paris. You can then hang pictures of your relatives by punching a hole in the top and stringing yarn through the loop.
