Pumpkins in the Patch

ages 3-5

Construction paper, marker

Activity Detail

Get several pieces of green construction paper. Label each piece of paper with a number, from one through ten. These pieces of paper will be the "pumpkin patches." Then cut out pumpkins (or find some pre-cut ones at the craft store). Help your children place the correct number of pumpkins in each pumpkin patch. Great for counting and number recognition!

For a fun variation on the activity, have your child crouch pumpkin-style on the paper and hold up the correct number of fingers to match that "patch".

Great educational fun with a seasonal theme.

You could also skip the background paper and make leaves. Ask your child to place a certain number of leaves on each pumpkin stem

What a fun activity! You could also do "ghosts in the graveyard" with black paper and white ghosts.
