Index cards or cardstock; art supplies
Help your child to make placecards for your next holiday dinner. Cut index cards or cardstock to preferred size (remember to fold in half so they stand up), then write a family member's name on each card. Next let your child decorate the placecards with stickers, glitter, and markers. You can usually find specific holiday-themed stickers at scrapbooking and craft stores or even Target when in season. You can do this activity several times a year -- once for each holiday meal. This craft can also be a fun way for kids to practice writing. Younger children can trace in marker the letters that you've written in pencil. Older children can write the names by themselves. Your children will feel so proud to display their work on the holiday table!
