Spying the ABC's
ages 4-6
Supplies
None.
Activity Detail
While in the car ask your child to look at billboards, road signs, license plates and buildings to find the letters of the alphabet in order. For instance, to find an 'A'-the child might see Applebee's and say it aloud, then move on to finding a sign or billboard with the letter B. To make it more challenging, if the child is old enough, she can write down all of the words she found.

Don't forget to begin playing "I Spy" with your child at a young age. I introduced the game to my two year-old as we walked around the block together. She caught on right away, and it really seemed to help develop her verbal skills. Now it is one of her favorite games.

Great game. Games like "Spying the Abc's" are incorporated in a fun and easy guide titled "Alphabetology." It is a multisensory program for teaching the ABC's and beginning phonics. Super fun!
