Superhero Day

ages 3-6

Activity Detail

Announce that it is officially 'Superhero Day'. Your child should choose what kind of superhero he or she wants to be. Make decisions together about the superhero's costume and superpower. Create a story together about your superhero and his life. Find household props and dress-up clothes to create your child's superhero right in your very home!

"Broom Boy", "Mop Man" or "Dusting Diva" might be welcome visitor in your house for a day or two. It helps to provide a starting point as a springboard for your child's creativity. See if they can choose a name, an emblem and a prop to define their character, then let their imaginations take flight. Who knows, maybe your own "Marvelous Mom" super hero personality might emerge and conquer that pile of laundry lurking around the corner!

Children love to be SUPERHEROS! This would be a HUGE SUCCESS with boys in your household!

Be mindful of safety during this activity, e.g. remind a child that a cape does NOT make them able to fly, etc.

We have "superhero day" EVERY day in our house! It's the latest phase/craze and we get the best comments when we go to the grocery store, with our little 5 yr old dressed to the hilt in cape, mask and accompanying bodysuit!
