Pop Up Card
Construction paper, sizzors, markers or crayons.
This is a great project for your child to make a card for any occasion -- Mother's Day, Father's Day, even Christmas. Take piece of paper that is twice as long as it is wide; fold it in half to make a square card. In the middle of the folded edge, cut two slits about 1 inch apart and 1 inch deep. Open the card and push the flap into the open card. The pop out will still fold in the middle but the opposite direction as the rest of the card. Next, help your child draw a picture on a separate sheet of paper, cut it out, and glue it to the pop-up flap inside the card. Your child can also decorate the rest of the card to go along with the pop up picture.
