Make a Comet

ages 3-6

Large bouncy ball; 6 lengths of curling ribbon, each 3 feet long; straight pin; white glue; aluminum foil

Activity Detail

This is a great activity for kids who are interested in space. Together, you can make a comet that your kids can bounce around inside or out. Curl at least six or more pieces of the ribbon that are 3 feet in length (various colors looks better) and tie them together at one end. Attach the ribbon to a bouncy ball using a straight pin and a dab of glue. Cover the ball with foil and allow the tail hang out. This is something fun for inside and out. Watch out if you have a cat; they may think that it is fun too!
