Where's The Tick Tock?

ages 2-4

Ticking timer

Activity Detail

Wind up a ticking timer, and hide it in the room where you are playing with your child. Have the child search for it while you give him or her clues, like "it's a little higher" or "it's closer to the hallway." As your child gets closer to the hidden timer, have him listen for the ticking sound to practice close listening skills. Once the timer rings, the turn is over. Once your child masters one room, try a different room and make it a little harder! Silly, but fun!

This is a great way for a child to practice carrying out directions and listening closely. It is like hide and seek with a few more skills incorporated!
