Shamrock Garland

ages 3-6

Green paper, scissors, glue, hole-punch or pencil, green ribbon or pipe cleaners, green glitter

Activity Detail

This festive St. Patrick's Day garland can be displayed in your child's room, at a party, or over the dining room table for family meals. Start by cutting 32 hearts out of green paper -- this will create an 8-shamrock garland. Hearts can be any size depending on how big you want the shamrocks to be -- 3" is a good size to start with. Glue 4 hearts together at their tips so that one heart is pointed up, one down, and one to the right and left. This creates the shamrock. Once shamrocks are dry, use a hole punch or pencil to punch one hole in the right side and one hole in the left side of the shamrock. Using green ribbon or pipe cleaners, tie each shamrock together in a line. To add some sparkle, brush the shamrocks lightly with glue and sprinkle on green glitter.
