Spring Lamb

ages 3-5

One toilet paper roll, cotton balls, two black pipe cleaners, glue, two googly eyes

Activity Detail

Your kids will have a lot of fun celebrating spring with this cute craft. Begin by gluing cotton balls all over a cardboard toilet paper tube. Next, poke four holes in what will become the bottom of the cotton ball-covered lamb -- two towards the front and two towards the back. These are the holes for the legs. Thread two black pipe cleaners through the holes (in one hole and out the other) to make legs. You now have a lamb body. Cut out a circle of white felt for the face, and glue on googly eyes. Glue this onto one end of the lamb's body. Cover the back end of the body with cotton balls.

These would make cute Easter decorations. You could make a little flock and do a couple with no legs that could be laying down in Easter grass.

I've seen pastel colored cotton balls, too. It would be fun to make some different colored sheep and sing, "Baa, Baa, pink sheep, have you any wool?"
