Fun & Fancy Pencil Holder

ages 4-6

Felt in different colors, scissors, glue, additional glitter or sequins.

Activity Detail

Begin by covering a clean, empty soup can with felt; be sure that the felt goes over the top edge, if it's sharp. Next, help your child to cut out fun shapes from different colors of felt. Glue the shapes on the can in any design, and finish off the project with ribbon at the top and bottom of the can. This turns out to be a beautiful pencil holder for your child's first desk. (I still have mine from elementary school!)

This is a good craft to do for Father's Day for Dad to take to the office!

These are fun to give as gifts for working parents, aunts, uncles or grandparents! Anyone who has a desk needs a pen/pencil holder! Homemade gifts are always GREAT!
