Make a Daisy Chain
ages 3-6
Supplies
Daisies
Activity Detail
Next time you're at the park (or anywhere that has daisies), pick 7-10 daisies, picking them so that there is at least 2 inches of stem at the bottom. Slit the stems with your fingernail, pull one stem of one daisy through the stem of another and repeat until you have a daisy string or a daisy chain. Have fun with the daisy chain, making a crown out of them or a necklace or anything that strikes your imagination.

Clover flowers work great as well, in case you can't find any daisies.

Difficult for little kids to do without destroying the flower. This is more for the parent to do for the child.

This brings back memories of when I was little. It also makes me think of grass blade whistles where you put a blade between your thumbs and it make a sound like a duck call!
