Have your child select a postcard from a vacation stop this summer, or even from your hometown. Write a message to a friend on the back of the card. Place the postcard on the table with the picture side down. With a pencil and ruler, draw lines across and down that are one inch apart. Cut on the lines, and you will have a picture puzzle with equal-sized pieces. You can mail the puzzle to a friend, and hopefully they will mail one back to your child! Depending on the age of your child, you could also make the pieces bigger in size.
Materials Needed: Postcard; ruler; pencil; scissors
Ages: 3-6 year olds
What a great idea! You can also have your child mail a postcard puzzle home. It will make a fun souvenir.

Kids might have fun making these. I'm just not into cutting up a perfectly good postcard.
