Fruit and Veggie Hunt
ages 3-6
Supplies
Construction paper, scissors, staples or yarn/hole punch, pictures of fruits and vegetables
Activity Detail
Create a small booklet by folding several sheets of construction paper in half, and then stapling or tying them together. Next, cut out pictures of several different types of fruits and vegetables and paste them on the pages. Write the name of the fruit or vegetable on each page -- older children love to help with this part. Then, take your booklet with you on your next visit to the farmer's market or grocery store. Your trip will be much easier as your child makes a game out of finding all the different items in his or her book.

This is great for reinforcing cutting skills, writing and patience in the grocery store. Be sure to leave enough time to find all of those items in the store if your child is a thorough as mine is!
