Activity Detail

This game is very similar to musical chairs, without the chairs. Make or purchase some sturdy green shamrocks and place them in a circle. They may be laminated to last longer if you wish. Each child should have one shamrock to sit on. Be sure to tell the children that they need to walk around the outside of the shamrock circle in order to avoid slipping. Start the music and have one practice round where everyone has a shamrock to sit on when the music stops playing. Then, take one shamrock away (or two with a large group) and play again. The child without a shamrock can help you start and stop the music again. Take away one more shamrock each time the music is stopped. The last child to sit on the last shamrock wins the game.
