Edible Play Dough

ages 2-5

Supplies

1 c. Smooth peanut butter, 1/2 c. honey, 2 c. nonfat dry milk, optional: decorations like raisins, cheerios, chocolate chips, M&M's, and shredded coconut

Activity Detail

If you like, have your child help you with this part: Combine 1 cup peanut butter and 1/2 cup honey in a large bowl. Then add 1 cup non-fat dry milk and mix thoroughly. Take another cup of non-fat dry milk, and slowly add, just a little at a time until you reach a playdough-like consistency. You may wind up not using all the dry milk. Allow your kids to use like regular play dough, but tell them that they can eat their creations if they want! If you're feeling especially creative, provide decorations like raisins, cheerios, chocolate chips, and coconut. Since this is sweetened with generous amounts of honey, use your best judgment regarding how much "play dough" you're willing to allow your child to eat.
